Simone Inwood

Exercise Physiologist

Hi, I’m Simone, an Exercise Physiologist! I moved from the Southern Highlands to Wollongong to pursue my career in Exercise Physiology.  When not in the clinic, you might catch me in the gym, on a morning sunrise walk with a coffee (of course), or down at the beach.

As an Exercise Physiologist, I believe it’s not just about counting reps and tracking heart rates – I am on a mission to use exercise as medicine to help you on your journey to a healthier, happier you.

Growing up playing representative basketball, I had a few injuries myself – which is where I discovered my interest in injury rehabilitation.  Whether you’re a seasoned traveller of your health journey or just starting on the path, I’m eager to be a part of your story and assist you in reaching your goals.

Highlights working PH:
I love walking into work every day and seeing our team wearing all different coloured shirts – it’s such a positive environment to work in.

What do you love about your career?
I love that I get to help people every day, watch their confidence grow in the gym and build strong relationships.

What gets you out of bed?
I truly believe that motion is lotion.  When I move my body, not only am I getting physical benefits, but I love how it makes me feel.  Starting my day off with those ‘feel-good’ endorphins always sets me up for a positive day.

What’s your process for turning a bad day into a good one?

Surrounding myself with friends or family.

What would people be surprised to know about you?
I lived in Wilcannia, a small town in North Western New South Wales, and attended Primary School there for approximately 6 months.

What’s your Karaoke song?
My friend and I have always loved singing together ‘We Are the World’.  I remember being 14 years old and learning every single lyric with her.

What makes you laugh the most?
When other people laugh.

Guilty pleasure:
I’m a sucker for chocolate and a nice glass of red wine.

Woolies, Coles or Aldi and why?

I do love a cheeky Aldi special, however I mostly shop at Woolies.  It is definitely more superior than Coles – fresher food and better layout.  I can never find things in Coles!

Toilet paper hung over or under?
Hung over and you can’t change my mind.

What do you love about Wollongong?
The beautiful beaches and running spots.

Favourite local café & your coffee order?
Hevan Espresso and a small double shot latte.
