Born in Germany, schooled in Sydney, and now lucky to be splitting his time between Sydney and the South Coast, Luca’s path to physiotherapy has been anything but linear. Before becoming a physio, he worked as a landscape gardener, hustled in recruitment in the CBD, and explored plenty in between, but sport and movement were always the common thread.
From Taekwondo at age five to rugby union, athletics, surfing and bouldering, Luca developed a deep interest in anatomy, biomechanics and rehabilitation through his own sporting injuries. He completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Exercise) before moving into physiotherapy, driven by a genuine fascination with how the body adapts, heals and performs.

Being taken into the PhysioHealth family from day 1. I’m lucky to be surrounded by such friendly and professional people.
What do you love about your career?
Luca loves helping people get back to doing what they love, whether that’s returning to sport, moving without pain, or simply feeling confident in their body again. For him, the best part of the job is seeing someone turn a frustrating injury into an opportunity to come back stronger.
What gets you out of bed?
Good surf or just good weather in general (go soak it up!) … or the rangers knocking on my van window when I’ve pushed my luck camping!
What’s your process for turning a bad day into a good one?
A 10-minute mindfulness reset and a conscious effort to compliment someone else.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
I lived in Saudi Arabia for 10 years

Playing my music too loud no matter the hour.

Woolies (really as simple in my head as green = go. And green = fresh)
Toilet paper hung over or under?

What do you love about Wollongong?
Easy. Surf spots, ocean swims, and a community that values an active lifestyle as much as he does.

P.s Coriander? Yes or HARD NO?
