GLA:D® is a proven education + exercise program for people with hip or knee osteoarthritis. It’s designed to reduce pain, improve function, and help you stay active, and it’s based on the latest international research (led nationally by La Trobe University).
1) Initial 1:1 assessment
We explain the program and measure your starting point (pain, strength, function).
2) Education (2 sessions)
Learn what OA is, what helps most, and simple strategies to manage symptoms day-to-day.
3) Supervised group exercise (6 weeks) 2 classes/week for 6 weeks. Strength, control, balance and confidence-building exercises, tailored and progressed to your level.
4) 3-month review
Re-test progress, reset goals, and lock in your long-term plan.
5) Follow-up tracking
Short questionnaires at start, 3 months and 12 months to track real changes.
(Proposed from February 2nd 2026)
You will attend two sessions per week. Choose the combo that suits you.
Great fit if you have hip/knee pain or stiffness, have been told you have OA (or suspect it), and want to move better and delay/avoid surgery.
Not ideal if your pain is from fracture, tumour, inflammatory joint disease, or significant widespread pain (e.g. fibromyalgia). We confirm suitability in your assessment.
