Our clinician’s have undergone specialist training in the GLAD program so they can prescribe targeted exercise programs for people with hip or knee osteoarthritis. It’s designed to reduce pain, improve function, and help you stay active, and it’s based on the latest international research (led nationally by La Trobe University).
1) Initial 1:1 assessment
We explain the program and measure your starting point (pain, strength, function).
2) Education
Learn what OA is, what helps most, and simple strategies to manage symptoms day-to-day.
3) Supervised group exercise. Strength, control, balance and confidence-building exercises, tailored and progressed to your level.
4) Reviews
Re-test progress, reset goals, and lock in your long-term plan.
5) Follow-up tracking
Short questionnaires to track real changes.
We recommend two sessions per week. See our timetable below for availability.
Great fit if you have hip/knee pain or stiffness, have been told you have OA (or suspect it), and want to move better and delay/avoid surgery.
Not ideal if your pain is from fracture, tumour, inflammatory joint disease, or significant widespread pain (e.g. fibromyalgia). We confirm suitability in your assessment.
Our clinician’s have the expertise to develope a program that works. Australian outcomes from similar programs show:
Funding depends on your individual circumstances. You may be able to use Medicare (GP Management Plan), private health, to obtain a full or partial reimbursement for attending the program.
