Motor Masters is PhysioHealth Corrimal’s exercise physiology-led, neuro-specific exercise program for people living with Parkinson’s disease, Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), and stroke.
Neurological conditions affect how the brain and body communicate, often impacting balance, walking, strength, posture, speech and confidence. Motor Masters uses targeted, evidence-based exercise to retrain movement and support long-term function.
Our sessions are built around neuroplasticity which is the brain’s ability to adapt and re-learn. Exercises are carefully designed to target asymmetries, movement compensations, helping re-pattern movement, improve control, and support everyday function, including voice projection and breathing.
This is not generic group fitness. Motor Masters is individually tailored within a small group, supervised by neuro-trained clinicians, and focused on helping people move better, stay independent, and keep doing the things that matter.
For people with parkinsons, exercise isn’t about doing anything at a slow pace- it’s about being independent, working at the right pace and doing things repetitively to retrain your brain. With our motor masters classes, exercises can help;
For people with MND, exercise isn’t about pushing harder, it’s about supporting what’s still working, managing fatigue, and maintaining independence for as long as possible.
Within Motor Masters, exercises for MND are:
In Motor Masters, exercise for FND is focused on retraining movement, not strengthening for the sake of it.
With FND, the nervous system is structurally intact, but movement patterns, control and automaticity are disrupted. Exercise is used to help the brain re-establish normal movement pathways through repetition, confidence and consistency.
Within Motor Masters, FND-focused exercise:
Sessions are calm, structured and supportive, helping participants trust their body again and move with more ease in daily life.
Following stroke, the brain’s ability to adapt and re-wire is critical. Motor Masters uses targeted, repetitive exercise to drive neuroplastic change and improve functional outcomes.
Stroke-specific exercise within Motor Masters focuses on:
We are a clinic in the Wollongong region and offer two classes: Motor Masters and NeuroStrength. While they are different in focus, they are designed to work best when completed together.
Our classes are designed by a PD warrior trained clinician, who strives in making all those with a neurological condition live their best life.
Our exercise physiology-led sessions aim to reduce deconditioning, maintain confidence in movement, and support quality of life, without over-fatiguing or overloading vulnerable systems.Motor Masters allows people with neurological based conditions to exercise in a safe, supported group environment, while still receiving individualised programming specific to their diagnosis and stage.
